7 Tips: Insiders Guide to The Fundy Trail Parkway

Updated: May 26, 2023

FOMO is real in St. Martins because there is so much to do. At The Beach Street Inn we start every morning talking our guests through their perfect vacation and perfect day. Here is how we recommend tackling The Fundy Trail Parkway in a single day including overlooks, short hikes and one unforgettable beach.

7 Tips for the Fundy Trail Parkway

The Fundy Trail Parkway is a stunning drive that showcases some of the most breathtaking scenery in New Brunswick. Here's our ideal day:

TIP 1

Grab a packed picnic lunch at the Inn and consider adding a bottle of Yip Russet Gold Cider, or what we like to call New Brunswick Prosecco.

TIP 2

Depart the Inn and drive 20 minutes to the entrance to the Fundy Trail

Parkway. Start your drive and enjoy the scenic views of the Bay of Fundy as you make your way towards your first stop.

TIP 3

Your first stop will be the Martin Head Lookout, which is one of the best viewpoints on the Parkway. From here, you can see the rugged coastline and the Bay of Fundy stretching out to the horizon.

Martin Head Lookout, which is one of the best viewpoints on the Parkway.

TIP 4

Next, head to Long Beach for a relaxing beach stop. The beach is a secluded spot with stunning views of the ocean and the surrounding cliffs. You can enjoy your picnic, take a swim, go for a walk along the beach, or simply relax and take in the beauty of the area.

TIP 5

After your beach stop, head to the Big Salmon River Interpretive Centre to learn more about the local flora and fauna. The centre offers guided walks, interpretive displays, and interactive exhibits that provide insight into the natural environment of the Fundy Trail Parkway.

TIP 6

Next, visit the Big Salmon River Falls. This is a short hike that will take you over a suspension bridge — stop for a selfie if you're not holding up traffic - and follow the 1.5 km (1.0 mile) trail to a waterfall. It's a moderate hike with some inclines, but the views are worth the effort.

TIP 7

Head back to the Inn and celebrate your adventure with one of our signature cocktails by a firepit.
